Dozens of staff, patients, and supporters laced up their trainers to tackle the world’s biggest half marathon, all to raise vital funds for our hospitals and community services.
So far, thousands of pounds have been raised to support projects that go above and beyond NHS funding – from specialist equipment to patient comfort items and wellbeing initiatives for staff.
Rich Jones, Charity Manager said: “We are so proud of every single one of our runners. The Great North Run is an incredible challenge, and their dedication and fundraising efforts will make a real difference to the patients and families we care for. A huge thank you also goes to everyone who donated and cheered them on.”
Funds raised from the Great North Run will be used to enhance care across County Durham and Darlington, helping to make patients’ time in hospital and community care as comfortable and positive as possible.
