In a heart-warming show of community spirit, more than 800 motorcyclists will roar into Darlington Memorial Hospital and then on to University Hospital of North Durham this Easter weekend, delivering hundreds of chocolate eggs for young patients, families, and staff.

The colourful convoy, made up of riders from across the region will arrive in spectacular style, bringing joy, excitement and Easter magic to our hospitals. With bikes decorated in festive themes and baskets brimming with chocolate treats.

Rich Jones, Charity Manager for the Trust said: “This incredible show of generosity and support means so much to everyone.

“To see so many people coming together to spread joy and kindness is truly moving. We are incredibly grateful to every single rider who took part.”

The annual Easter egg ride has become a much-loved tradition, with communities gathering donations to deliver smiles where they’re needed most.

The donated Easter eggs will be distributed to children on the wards, outpatient clinics, and staff rooms throughout the hospital, helping to brighten the day for those spending Easter in hospital.

Our Charity continues to support the health and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors across the Trust, and events like this highlight the generosity and heart of the local community.
