Patients recovering from a stroke at Bishop Auckland Hospital will benefit from a new specialist rehabilitation chair thanks to the generosity of The Chyrelle Addams Trust.

The Chyrelle Addams Trust has donated a Care Flex Smart Seat Pro, worth almost £4,000, to the hospital’s Stroke Unit, providing additional comfort and essential postural support to patients as they begin their recovery journey.

The specialist chair will help patients safely regain strength and mobility after a stroke, supporting independence and comfort.

Jade Cartmill, Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in Stroke Rehab said: “We are incredibly grateful to The Chyrelle Addams Trust for this donation. This chair will make a real difference to our patients’ rehabilitation and comfort as they begin their recovery journey after a stroke.”

Rich Jones, Charity Manager said: “We are honoured to support the stroke rehabilitation unit at Bishop Auckland Hospital helping patients regain their independence and dignity after a life-changing event.”

CDDFT Charity works closely with local community groups and charities to enhance patient care across County Durham and Darlington.
